Feed stock

Mortality records

Birds die and are removed. The count on paper stays the same until the batch is sold and the numbers do not add up. Mortality is recorded when it happens, reduces the batch count and is carried into the accounts as a loss.

Cost per batch

The batch sold well. Whether it made money, after feed, medication and losses, is anyone’s guess. Costs and sales are recorded against the batch and post to the accounts, so each one shows what it really earned.
