Kitchen display system (KDS) for restaurants

A kitchen display system that replaces the docket printer. Orders reach the right station the moment they are taken and stay until marked done, with reports on how long the kitchen took. For restaurants in Nigeria, Ghana and South Africa.

A screen in the kitchen replaces the docket printer. Each station sees only what it has to prepare, with quantities and notes. Orders stay on the screen until they are marked done, and you can see afterwards how long the kitchen took.

Paper dockets fail at exactly the moment you are busiest

Orders on screen

The docket printer runs out of paper during the rush. Four orders are sent and never printed. The floor finds out when guests complain. Orders arrive on the kitchen screen as they are taken. There is no paper to run out, fall or smudge.

A screen per station

The grill and the bar share one printer. Cooks read past cocktails to find their steaks, and a drinks order sits unnoticed. Each station has its own screen and sees only its own items: food to the kitchen, drinks to the bar.

Kitchen reports

Guests say the food is slow. The chef says it is not. There is nothing to settle the argument. Kitchen reports show what was prepared and how long orders took, by day and by station.
